Topic: Government considers ban on the use of wild animals in UK circuses

The UK Government is currently considering introducing a ban on wild animals in travelling circuses. In light of PETA US' exposé of cruel training methods of elephants and the recent Great British Circus tour using performing elephants in the UK, there is at last a real opportunity to end the use of lions, tigers, elephants and other animals.

What You Can Do
The government agrees that letting things continue as they are is not an option but is considering a range of options, some of which fall short of a complete ban. It has just started a consultation period that ends in March, following which, changes to the law could be introduced within weeks. Please contact your MP using the link below and ask him or her to put pressure on the government to introduce a full and permanent ban and end the misery of animals in circuses for good.
