Humanity’s true moral test

“Humanity’s true moral test, its fundamental test (which lies deeply buried from view), consists of its attitude towards those who are at its mercy: animals.”
Milan Kundera The Unbearable Lightness of Being, 1984

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated " Mahatma Gandhi

Tell your MP to vote for the climate
« on: October 22, 2008, 11:12:06 AM »
Dear Supporter

With your help, the RSPB has been campaigning to ensure that the Climate Change Bill, currently making its way through parliament, will become an effective law.

Good news! Our combined efforts have secured much of what we have been campaigning for.

Just last week, the Government increased the  emissions reduction target in the Bill from 60 percent of CO2 by 2050, to 80 percent of all greenhouse gases by the same date. The Bill had already been amended to make sure Government meets this target without causing unnecessary damage to the natural environment - for example, by selecting improvements to vehicle efficiency before increases in biofuel use. Some positive steps have also been taken to improve the parts of the Bill that will help wildlife adapt to climate change.

These achievements will make a real difference and we can be truly proud of them. We are now within touching distance of securing a truly effective law.

One more chance for you to help us make it even better.

On 28 October, MPs will be voting on the Bill and will have the opportunity to change it and make it even better. There are three amendments we would like them to vote for - find more information when you click on the link.

Please e-mail your MP now and be a voice for nature.

Thank you for your support.

Yours sincerely

Go Veggie

One person will eat: 2750 fish, 1158 chickens, 4 cattle,1 goose, 18 pigs, 39 turkeys, 28 ducks, 23 sheep and 1 rabbit in their lifetime. Going veggie and helping others go veggie is the most important thing we can do to help animals.
